Sipi River lodge
Location: The location of Sipi River Lodge in the foothills of Mount Elgon, famous for three spectacular waterfalls, home to an incredible number of bird species, some of the best Arabica coffee in the world and magical sunsets. River Lodge is located in the grounds of a unique restored former home and consists of a main house and seven detached accommodations.
Accommodation: There are cottages and bandas. Aniet, Kapsurur, Chepkui and Toben are secluded, spacious and thoughtfully designed cottages each offering their own exclusive view of the waterfall.
Piswa, Sasa and Suam reflect local building traditions; with rounded walls and authentically crafted thatched roofs, these rustic riverside bandas fit into the local landscape. From the beds you can look out over the mature gardens and listen to the sound of the waterfall. Each banda can accommodate one or two people sharing a double or twin room.
Room Facilities: The cottages have a private bathroom with a double shower, a king-size bed, a 4×6 bed, a 3×6 bed, a living room with a sofa / daybed and a private veranda. These beautiful cottages combine a unique design of vibrant colors, local craftsmanship, modern decor and African flavor.
The bandas use toilet and shower facilities that are shared with the banda residents. The bathroom is a detached, round thatched house divided in two, with its own lockable entrance on either side. The bathrooms have flush toilets and hot power showers.
Restaurant: there is a restaurant with continental breakfast.
