Savannah lodge Kidepo

Location: On the edge of one of Uganda’s most beautiful national parks. Just 500 meters from the Kalokudo gate, Savannah lodge is literally steps away from the park. It offers unparalleled vistas of the vast Narus Valley, Mount Morungole and the distant mountain ranges that form the border with South Sudan.

Accommodation: Kidepo Savannah Lodge features twelve beautifully appointed safari tents on raised decks. Each of the spacious tents has its own veranda with a beautiful view of the mighty savannah. Comfortably furnished with 1 double bed or 2 single beds, all safari tents have an ensuite bathroom with 24-hour hot showers, running water for wash basins and a flushing toilet.

As a budget option, Kidepo Savannah Lodge offers 9 non-self contained tents. These are comfortably furnished with 2 single beds or 1 double bed, a bedside table and a socket for charging your electrical equipment. The view of the park is vast and beautiful with the occasional herd of elephants or buffalo passing by. The tents share a communal toilet block with hot showers and toilets. No need to worry about linens as all linens and towels are provided.

Restaurant: The thatched dining and bar area offers one of the best views of the park. Dinners are 4 course meals while 2 courses are served at lunch. As everything on site is solar powered, including the fridges and freezers, there is a set menu, but if you have any dietary requirements, please let us know in good time and your request will be accommodated.

Facilities: there is NO wifi available.

Activities: game drives, bush and nature walks. Visit to Karamojong village. A unique insight into the way of life of the warrior tribe. The name Karamojong is derived from an expression meaning “the old men can walk no further”. A cultural visit to their Manyatta will give you an insight into this fascinating community, its culture and tradition.
Visiting the IK people this is one of the original tribes and were here long before the Karamojong arrived.
