3 days Murchison Falls
Day 1: Entebbe> Murchison Falls. Depart for Murchison falls after an early morning breakfast. Stop over at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary which was established in 2005 to reintroduce the southern white rhinoceros to Uganda. You could choose to have lunch before or after trekking the rhinos depending on your time of arrival. proceed to Murchison Falls National Park via Karuma. Check in and relax at the lodge.
Day 2: Murchison Falls.Drive to the northern bank of the River Nile after breakfast in your open-roof vehicle which will give you an excellent opportunity to view and photograph the diverse wildlife. Your guide will help you spot elephants, lions, cape buffalo, Roth child’s giraffe, hartebeest, waterbuck, oribi, bushbuck, bohor reedbuck, hyena, and if you are lucky, the leopard.
After lunch, enjoy the boat cruise upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just few of meters from the ‘Devil’s Cauldron’, marvel at the schools of hippos, crocodiles and over the 17km stretch you may see elephant, waterbuck and Uganda Kob. This is also the zone of many birds, species like the goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant, and the rare shoebill stork. Later, return to your lodge and relax in the evening.
Day 3: Murchison > Entebbe/ Kampala. Depart for Entebbe and stop over at the top of the fantastic sight that concludes your visit to Murchison. Here the Nile, the longest river in the world, is forced through a narrow gap in the rock (only 7 meters wide), before ferociously plunging into a frothing pool 43m below enjoy photography moments before you embark on your return journey back to Entebbe/Kampala.
Optional Activity – Hiking to the Top of the Falls (US $ 15 Per Person): You can go on a hike to the falls as a further option at the end of the boat cruise.
Optional Activity – Nile Delta Boat Cruise (US $ 56 Per Person): Another fantastic opportunity to discover the amazing wildlife along the river banks is the boat cruise to the Nile Delta wetlands system.
Optional Activity – Chimpanzee Tracking Budongo Forest (US $ 120 Per Person): You can further participate in an exhilarating search for chimp troops in the Budongo Forest with the further opportunity of observing an impressive number of tropical bird species in their natural habitat.
