Fort Murchison lodge

Location: Located on the eastern banks of the slow-flowing Albert Nile, Fort Murchison revokes the idea of a well-maintained isolated outpost from the days when Arab traders visited the African hinterland and legendary explorers led expeditions in search of the source of the Nile. Built on the right spot and inspired by its historical background, Fort Murchison is unlike any other in Uganda. Fort Murchison is located in the former Aswa Lolim Game Reserve, just outside the northern park boundaries of Murchison Falls National Park.

Accommodation: consists of 12 en-suite units with a spacious bedroom with comfortable beds, bathrooms with sunken sinks and showers with plenty of hot water from solar water heaters. All rooms feature a work desk and a private balcony with a private sofa.

Apart from these units, there are also simple tents. These are comfortably furnished with 2 single beds with mosquito net, a bedside table and a socket for charging your electrical equipment. All tents are under a grass thatched roof, giving you a private terrace and some welcome shade. The tents share a communal toilet block with showers and toilets.

Room facilities: see description under accommodation.

Restaurant: The decor of the restaurant has a Swahili touch.
Homemade bread and products from Kampala. Fruit from our own vegetable garden such as citrus, mango and papaya to jackfruit, passion and avocado.

Due to the use of solar fridges and freezers, there is a limited supply and there is a fixed menu.

Facilities: The roof terrace is the perfect place for your sundowner drink with breathtaking views of the Albert Nile. What could be better after a safari than cooling off by a swimming pool with one of the most beautiful views in Uganda?
