7 days Mara & Nakuru & Samburu
Day 1: Nairobi> Masai Mara – Depart Nairobi at approximately 08.30 am to start the trip to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. On the way we stop to enjoy the view over the Great Rift Valley. Arrive at the lodge for lunch and if there is enough time we will do a game drive and then return to the lodge / camping site for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Masai Mara. Today you will spend a whole day in this beautiful park. Here you can see black-maned lions, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeest, zebras and so much more. Meals are taken in the lodge or on the campsite. If you stay in the park all day, you will have lunch by the river. If you have booked a lodge safari, the lodge will provide the lunch box.
Day 3: Masai Mara – Early morning game drive. It is possible to take a walk accompanied by Masai Warriors or visit a Masai village. ( a fee is requested to pay local)
The manyata is a corral with huts made of clay and cow tarts. This is then dried and used for the walls of a hut. The Masai share their traditions and you can walk around freely to take pictures. In the afternoon we do another game drive and before dark we return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. (or campsite if you have booked a camping safari)
Day 4: Masai Mara> Nakuru – 08:00 am: After an early breakfast departure from Masai Mara to Nakuru National Park. Picnic lunch on the way. Lake Nakuru has been described as the “world’s largest bird spectacle” with millions of flamingos. Dinner and overnight at the lodge / budget hotel. (depending on what you have booked)
Day 5: Nakuru> Samburu – 08:00 am: After breakfast departure from Nakuru to Samburu. Samburu is known for its Roth Schild giraffes and the Grevy zebra. The Samburu’s live in Samburu land, who, like the Masai, are a nomad tribe. A mix of forest, grassland and swamp, home to a wide variety of animals and birdlife, approximately 365 bird species have been sighted in Buffalo Springs. You can also see here: giraffe, zebra, elephant, Somali ostrich, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena. You spend the night in a lodge or if you have booked a camping safari on the campsite with basic facilities.
Day 6: Samburu. Today we spend the whole day in this beautiful park to enjoy the unique landscape and wild life of the Samburu. Known for its large predator population, but also famous for its long-necked Gerenuk. The Samburu prefer to dress in their traditional attire, and you will no doubt meet some of the villagers during your stay. You have your meals and overnight in the lodge (or at the campsite)
Day 7: Samburu> Nairobi. An early morning game drive followed by breakfast and the return journey to Nairobi.
